Translation is not simply a matter of having a good dictionary. As a profession in its own right, translation naturally requires an excellent command of the target language (syntax, grammar, spelling) and a good style of writing. What's more, working like a detective, the translator must know how to unearth the appropriate equivalent word for technical terms and make sure the translation is coherent: the text must flow smoothly and not seem forced. Precision, discipline and experience are absolutely necessary.

Because a second opinion is always better than one, I also provide proofreading services for texts, which have already been translated into French, or texts written in French, in order to review the syntax, spelling, punctuation, etc.

Have you got plenty of ideas, but lack the time or resources to put them on paper yourself? Claire Michelon Traductions can do it for you.
